SAT-Schneider DRT1 Evaluation Board
ICOM CI-V rigs (set baudrate in drmdisco.ini 1=1200 baud, 2=19200 baud)
Kenwood TS-850

Installation:
Just unzip and copy all the files into a folder of your choice. Doubleclick on DRMDisco.exe to start. Choose your rig and Com port and enable "Connect".

To log the fieldstrength, just enable FSTLog and use Start Log to start the logging. The log is written into the DRMDisco.log file. You need DRMcalc 6.0 Pro to merge the DRMDisco log with the DRM Software radio log. Displaying and logging fieldstrength is only supported by AOR 7030, Yaesu FRG100, Kenwood TS-850 and DWT.

If "Update" is checked, DRM Disco tries to download the newest DRM schedule from www.drm-dx.de (powered by Klaus Schneider) and the Geophysical Alert Message by the US Dept. of Commerce, NOAA, Space Environment Centerat at each programstart. The actual Soloar Flux, A-index and k-index are shown in the statusbar. The colours of each value are represent red for bad propagation to green for very good conditions. Search the Internet for more information about these values. The time and date of these value are displayed in the last statusbar panel. You just need an open direct internet connection for a successful download. If you only have a proxy connection, you can download the DRMSchedule.ini from www.drm-dx.de and copy it into the DRM Disco folder. Everytime when you check the update checkbox, the geophysical weather values will be updated, but not the DRM schedule.

The 10 Presets can be edited by clicking with the right mouse button somewhere between the presets buttons. The maximum of digits is 5!

If functions are greyed out, they are not supported by your receiver.

You can also type in a frequency in the frequency edit box and press Enter. Or you can click with the mouse into the frequency edit box then the use the mouse wheel to tune up and down.

Do not choose Filter 5+6 if you have not installed them in your AOR 7030! AOR 7030 has the option to set a frequency offset if needed. Just edit the DRMdisco.ini file. For +500 Hz edit 500.

Yaesu FT847 has the option to set a frequency offset if needed. Just edit the DRMdisco.ini file. For +500 Hz edit 50.

If you have communication problems with the Elektor receiver, you can try differnt values of "Elektor Delay" in the ini file. Further you have two edit boxes where you can adjust the IF and XTAL values. Tune to an AM station and try to get the carrier exactly onto the middle line of the DRM Sofware Radio spectrum window.

If you have communication problems with the DRT1 receiver, you can try differnt values of "DTR1 Delay" in the ini file.

Close the Winradio software before you start the Winradio control!

Close the Digital World Traveller Software before you start the DWT Control. If you want to use the DWT Software for decoding, then select the "DWT CT" setting.

For Winradio and DWT, you can ignore the COM port settings.

If you start the log with DRM Disco, you should stop it with DRM Disco. If you start a log with DRMSWR, you should stop it with DRMSWR. You cannot mix it! The Start Log button starts a log file with the current frequency. When you use Dream, the Evaluation Dialog should be already open, when you connect your receiver with DRM Disco. After you have connected your RX, you should not select another Plot window with the Chart Selector. Each time you connect your recceiver with Dream control selected, an empty log record will be produced. This is normal, and may be fixed in the future.

Color settings can be changed by right mouse click in the schedule.

Shortcuts:
- Arrow left and right tunes in frequency steps up and down
- ALT+Y tunes 1 kHz down
- ALT+X tunes 1 kHz up

Please send me details about the programming of your receiver, so that I can add support for more receivers, if it is not too difficult. All types of comments or bug reports are highly welcome, just mail them to: drm@o2online.de
